CableAnalyst (“we”, “us”) runs cableanalyst.com, a trading education website operated from Nigeria. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Email list: your email address (and name if given), where you signed up and when you gave consent.
- Contact form: your name, email, topic and message.
- Accounts: your email, a securely hashed password and any journal entries you save. Journal data is encrypted at rest.
- Technical data: IP address for security and rate limiting, and anonymous, cookie free usage statistics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights).
How we use it
To send the emails you subscribed to, reply to your messages, run your account, keep the site secure and understand which pages are useful. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal basis
Your consent (email list), performance of a service you requested (accounts, replies) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that host and run the site: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Supabase (database) and our email delivery provider. Data may be processed outside Nigeria with appropriate safeguards. Partner and affiliate websites you visit have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies, such as the login session cookie, plus browser storage to remember your language and whether you closed the mentorship popup. Our analytics do not use cookies. If you use the language switcher, translation is provided by Google Translate, which may set its own cookies.
How long we keep it
Email list data until you unsubscribe, contact messages for up to 24 months, and account data until you ask us to delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, withdraw consent or object to processing. Every email has a one click unsubscribe link. For any other request use the contact form. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
